Palomar Health & Arch Health Partners celebrate opening of new Ramona health clinic

04.14.2013

Dozens of Ramona area residents got a good look at the new Ramona Ambulatory Care Center over the weekend during an open house celebration hosted by Palomar Health and Arch Health Partners.

They were treated to free health screenings, food, entertainment and guided tours of the 7,600-square-foot facility, which is a Proposition BB project. Palomar Health district voters overwhelming passed the bond measure in 2004.

“We have delivered on our promise,” Palomar Health Board Chairman Ted Kleiter said before the first tour. Board members Linda Greer and Steve Yerxa also attended and participated in the ribbon cutting.

County Supervisor Dianne Jacob thanked the Palomar Health Board for keeping its promise to build a state-of-the-art facility in Ramona and encouraged area residents to use it “so that we may one day expand it.”

Arch Health Partners, which has served the Ramona area for many years, moved its office to the new location on March 18, when it opened. An urgent care center opened on the site on April 1.

Arch Health Partners Executive Director Victoria Lister noted the collaboration between Palomar, Arch Health Partners and Pacific Medical Buildings in bringing a top-notch facility featuring the area’s first radiology/X-ray and point of service laboratory testing as well as the much needed urgent care center.

Palomar Health President & CEO Michael H. Covert echoed the importance of that partnership. “This has been a team event from day one,” he said.

Former Palomar Health Board member, Marcelo Rivera, M.D., called the new facility “unique in design and function.”

Arch Health Partners Ramona physician, Christine Lind, M.D., said the best thing about the new facility is that it is patient-centric. “The final result was well worth the wait,” Dr. Lind said. Arch Health Partners Board member Robin Rowland, M.D., also participated in the open house event.
