Gerald Bracht, F.A.C.H.E - Chief Administrative Officer
Gerald E. Bracht is the Chief Administrative Officer for Palomar Medical Center, a 288-bed acute care hospital in Escondido, California, operated by Palomar Health. He has more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry.
Gerald received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of San Diego. Gerald began his career with American Medical International with positions in material management and administration at the hospital and corporate level. He continued his path in hospital administration at Scripps Health; and thereafter with Cove Healthcare, a national Hospitalist professional services company. He joined Palomar Health in 2000 and has since served as the Chief Administrative Officer for Palomar Medical Center. Gerald has also provided independent consulting to hospitals and medical groups.
In addition, Gerald serves on several professional committees, including the California Healthcare Association's EMS/Trauma Joint Committee and VHA COO/CFO forum planning committee. He is a Fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives, and serves as a mentor to new healthcare leaders. He is a Past President and Honorary Life Member of the California Association of Hospital Purchasing Agents and Materials Managers and an active member of the Escondido Rotary Club.
Gerald lives in San Diego with his wife and two daughters.
