Aeron Wickes, MD
Dr. Aeron Wickes graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1978 with highest honors with a double major in Biochemistry and Aquatic Biology. He was awarded his M.D. degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine in 1984 and also completed his internship and residency there.
He went into the general practice of medicine in 1985. In 1991 he founded his private general and family practice of medicine called Sabre Springs Medical Clinic and joined the staff of the Family Practice Department at Pomerado Hospital. Dr. Wickes is a past chairman of the Family Practice Department there. His practice reorganized to form Aeron D. Wickes, M.D., Incorporated, in 2006.
His appreciation for modern medicine started at age ten after he lived with his family in Nigeria, Africa where he personally witnessed the natural history of untreated diseases in a third world country.
Dr. Wickes and wife Mary have resided in the San Diego neighborhood of Sabre Springs since 1987. He has three grown children and is pleased that they are all graduates (one soon to be) of the University of California. He enjoys surfing, photography and gardening, among other things.
