Jerry Kaufman, PT MA
Jerry Kaufman began his health care career as an EKG Technician in 1963 at Beverly Hospital in Montebello, California. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from California State University at Los Angeles, and a master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Southern California.
Throughout his career, Jerry has been involved in most aspects of his profession. He has provided care at the acute hospital level, for skilled nursing facilities, in home health, in private practice and in clinical settings. Jerry also served his profession in Sacramento as a twice-appointed member of the State Physical Therapy Board. He recently resigned as director and manager of Graybill Physical Therapy to continue his professional career on a consultant basis.
He has worked in physical therapy education at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, and lectured Medical Residents at Northwestern University. He has worked at the corporate level with American Medical International (AMI) as a regional coordinator of rehabilitation services, for ReadiCare as a corporate consultant, and for National Medical Enterprises (NME) as a contracting consultant.
Jerry served on the Escondido City Council for two years, and has served the Escondido Chamber of Commerce as Board Chairman and as chairman of various committees. He is a member (and Past President) of the Escondido Rotary Club, Boys and Girls Club of Inland North County, and has served as a member of the Palomar Health Foundation Board. He was elected to the Palomar Health Board of Directors in 2008, 2010 and 2014.
Jerry plays the saxophone is currently a member of the Emmanuel Faith Community Church Orchestra.
