About Carol LeBeau

After bringing the news into people’s homes for nearly three decades as a news anchor for KGTV, 10News, Carol LeBeau will bring her passion for life to Palomar Health as its health champion – helping women, seniors and families to simply live their best.

Carol is perhaps the most recognizable and trusting voice in San Diego, known for her “Staying Healthy” reports.

“I have had every diagnostic work-up you could have, and I've had them on the air. I have swallowed a pill camera, I have had a virtual colonoscopy, and I have had every part of my body scanned,” says Carol LeBeau. I even got a couple of shots of Botox in the interest of a news story.”

During her tenure at KGTV, Carol toured with the Pope, covered the Academy Awards and even went jogging with President Bill Clinton.

She has earned a number of awards in her illustrious career, including a Golden Mike, San Diego Press Club Awards, C. Everett Koop Award for Health Reporting and a Society of Professional Journalists award for a series of stories she covered in India following the devastating tsunamis in Southeast Asia in 2004.

“Through the years, I’ve covered fascinating medical stories, but what I really love is inspiring people to take care of themselves and hopefully make a difference.”

Born in Chicago and raised in Davenport, Iowa, LeBeau came to KGTV from WMBD-TV in Peoria, Ill.

Carol has been married 25 years to Tom Hamilton, a retired Navy pilot. They live in Coronado with “Gizmo” and “Little Girl,” resident cats in charge.

“I’ve learned so much over the years about healthy living but even more importantly through my own stumbling and bumbling throughout my own life. I’ve come to the conclusion that if I want to be the most effective, productive, joy-filled person possible I have to take care of myself.”

Together, Carol and Palomar Health will share her passion for good health and continue to inform and inspire others to get the most out of their life.
