Palomar Health’s Forensic Health Services held its first annual Community Partner Appreciation event on December 1 and it was a great success.
Forensic Health Services includes the Sexual Assault Response Team and Child Abuse Program, providing services that are part of a multi-disciplinary team approach to the investigation of sexual assault and child abuse.
The agencies that partner with FHS were honored at the event, including the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, Escondido Police Department, Oceanside Police Department, Carlsbad Police Department, Naval Criminal Investigative Service, Child Welfare Services, the District Attorney’s office, and victim advocacy groups such as Center for Community Solutions and Women’s Resource Center.
“We understand the time and hard work that goes into investigating and prosecuting these types of cases,” said Christina Shultz, the Child Abuse Program supervisor. “We just really wanted to stop and take the opportunity to say thank you, on behalf of our staff and the hundreds of victims who are seen at our Center every year. We want them to know how much we appreciate them and that they make a difference.”
The honorees were treated to Mexican cuisine, prizes and a ceremony where each group received a framed certificate that stated, “In Appreciation for your service and commitment. You have made the world a better and safer place”.
Forensic Health Services hopes to make this an annual event.
