Monoclonal Antibody Therapy




Palomar Health is offering infusion therapy to treat medically eligible COVID-19 positive patients with monoclonal antibodies (mAb). Those 65 and over may self-refer for treatment, all others must be scheduled by a medical provider. All treatments will be provided at no cost to the patient. Monoclonal antibodies are manmade versions of the antibodies that our bodies naturally make to fight viruses, such as COVID19, and have been shown in clinical trials to reduce COVID-19-related hospitalization and emergency room visits. This treatment has been authorized for emergency use by the FDA to treat mild to moderate COVID-19 positive adults and pediatric patients (12 years of age and older weighing at least 88 lbs) who are at high risk for progressing to severe COVID-19 and/or hospitalization.

Eligible patients must meet each of the following criteria for treatment:

 

1. Test positive (PCR or Antigen) for COVID-19
2. Currently experiencing mild to moderate symptoms
3. Within 10 days of symptom onset (ideally <72 hours)
4. High-risk of severe progression of COVID-19
5. Cannot be receiving supplemental oxygen for COVID-19 or have allergies to monoclonal antibody treatment
