A group of women golfers from the Country Club of Rancho Bernardo have hit another hole-in-one for Palomar Health’s Jean McLaughlin Women’s Center.

The “18-holers” and “9-holers” as they like to be called, presented representatives from the Women’s Center and the Palomar Health Foundation with a check for $22,000 on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the country club. The group’s fundraising lead, Becky Mrachek, said the women have raised more than $80,000 for the Women’s Center over the past six years by hosting annual golf tournaments for the specific purpose of raising money.

This year the money will be directed to supporting training and technology for the 3D mammogram machines the Women’s Center installed and began using this spring. Last year the 18-holers and 9-holers raised money to help purchase the machines.

Mrachek said many members of her group use the Women’s Center and they are glad their donations go directly to helping members of the community.
