More than 10,000 People have been Vaccinated at the Palomar Health COVID-19 Resource Clinic

Thank you to all the staff, volunteers and patients for making this milestone possible! With each dose, we’re making our community a safer place.

It was a lucky St. Patrick’s Day for Deegee Mehew as she was our 10,000th vaccine recipient! Deegee is no stranger to Palomar Health. In February 2020, she underwent surgery with Palomar Health Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Arush Patel to take care of an injured hand, and then went on to receive care through our Outpatient Rehabilitation Services in San Marcos.

It was around this time that the pandemic was declared, and being in a high-risk group for severe COVID-19, she quarantined at home for most of the year.

Now, she’s back under our care, this time to receive her second vaccine dose and couldn’t be happier!

California State University San Marcos Senior Nursing Students Sarah Menyhay and Nicole Newberg provided her the vaccine.

When asked what she was going to do after being “fully vaccinated,” Deegee said she was looking forward to reuniting with her grandchildren after a long year apart.

Stories like these are at the heart of our COVID-19 Resource Clinic, and we’re proud to provide this service to the community.
