Special Needs Youth Donate Care Packages to Sexual Assault Victims

In an act of true compassion and selflessness, a group of special needs youth raised more than $500 to purchase care package items for survivors of sexual assault and child abuse. The 15 youth are all between the ages of 20-27 and are sponsored by a Poway Kiwanis action group. One of the members of the Aktion Club, Cailyn, donated the entire proceeds of her first ever paycheck from her first job to the cause.

They used the money to purchase items requested by Forensic Health Services (FHS) and arranged them into 40, age-specific care packages made up of stuffed animals, activity books, colored pencils, journals and blankets.

A select number of the Aktion Club, as they are known, delivered the care packages to FHS on Tuesday to be given to sexual assault and child abuse survivors brought to FHS by law enforcement.
