The designation is the second year in a row for short-term rehabilitation

The Villas at Poway (formerly Villa Pomerado) has earned the “Best Nursing Homes” designation for short-term rehabilitation from U.S. News & World Report for the second year in a row. U.S. News gives the designation only to those homes meeting criteria it has determined most greatly impact patient and resident care, safety, and outcomes. The designation was only achieved by 21% of skilled nursing facilities nationwide.

“We recently changed our name, but not our mission to provide the best patient care,” said Palomar Health Chief Operations Officer Sheila Brown. “We are honored a nationally respected publication confirms what many North County residents have known for many years.”

“Even with the Covid 19 pandemic, our 5-star rating stands as Palomar Health’s commitment to our communities,”  said Virginia Barragan, VP Continuum Care, Palomar Health. “This award acts as further evidence of our high standards for safety and care.”

The Villas at Poway is home to a maximum of 129 adult residents who have post-acute, sub-acute and long-term needs including rehabilitation, respite and hospice care. Highly trained nurses, including a Nurse Practitioner, work closely with patients, doctors and family members to ensure the best possible outcomes.
