Forensic Health Services
Since the 1980’s Palomar Health has recognized the need to partner with the community to help those who have been victims of violent crimes. The Forensic Health Department, housed on the campus of Palomar Medical Center (PMC), consists of the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and the Child Abuse Program (CAP). Pomerado Hospital (POM) hosts a second SART location.
Programs at both hospitals are available 24-hours a day to provide medical services for children and adults who have experienced sexual and/or physical abuse. We work closely with local investigative and prosecutorial agencies to provide complete state of the art assessments that may be later used in court. Experts in the field of child abuse and sexual assault are maintained on staff to respond to also provide consultation and education to other professionals and to the community.
