Don Myers, MSW, MBA

Don Myers joined Palomar’s Center for Behavioral Health in August of 2017. Prior to joining Palomar Health, he held a variety of leadership positions of multiple departments in hospital operations in Colorado and California. He has more than 25 years of leadership experience in all facets of behavioral health operations. Don received a Master of Social Work in 1990 and his Master of Business Administration in 2004. He is a strong advocate for Wellness & Recovery and Stigma Reduction in support of improvement in quality of life. Don is actively involved in local and state activities to increase awareness and promote health in the community.
Sarah Lisenbee, PsyD
Lead Clinical Psychologist, Psychology Training Program
Dr. Sarah Lisenbee is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Palomar Health. She is the supervisor for the Psychology Clinical Training Program and provides clinical support and psychological/neuropsychological assessments to patients admitted to the Behavioral Health Unit, Gero-Psychiatric Unit, and Medical Floors. Dr. Lisenbee completed her fellowship at the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago and has over 10 years experience with both inpatient and outpatient settings in the health psychology and behavioral health field. Dr. Lisenbee utilizes a biopsychosocial model and integrates CBT, ACT, and Mindfulness interventions into her clinical approach.
Darrell Oppermann, BSN, MSHS, RN, PMHN-BC
Nurse Manager of Behavioral Health Unit, Gero-Psychiatric Unit, PMC Poway
Darrell joined Palomar Health in 2006 and has served in various roles in the Behavioral Health Department. He has more than 17 years experience caring for the mentally ill population and is Board Certified in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. He is currently responsible for managing the Inpatient Gero-Psychiatric Unit and the Adult Behavioral Health Unit, both located in Poway.
Stephanie Sambrano, LMFT
Manager of Behavioral Health Clinical Services
Stephanie has operational and clinical responsibility for the Emergency Department and Medical Floor behavioral Health clinical services at Palomar Medical Center campuses in Escondido and Poway. Stephanie has more than 14 years of experience working with the mentally ill population. She has held leadership positions in both public and private sectors, including both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Richard Hess, BSN, PMHN-BC
Nurse Manager of Crisis Stabilization Unit, PMC Escondido
Rich Hess has more than seven years in psychiatric nursing leadership experience to include more than two years leadership of the Palomar Health Crisis Stabilization Unit. Rich’s nursing leadership experience includes Emergency Psychiatry and Psychiatric Emergency Clinic Services; Neuromodulation, Ketamine Infusion, rTMS and ECT. He also has five years of service in the U.S. Army serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Rich participates in various local, state and national activities in support of Veterans and Suicide Prevention activities. Rich’s leadership is based on HRO Just Culture, balancing individual accountability with systems thinking, team participation and engagement. Rich supports providing care for our community by engaging people as partners in their care and prioritizing Whole Person Wellness and Recovery.
Shante Ogden, LCSW, Lead Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician, Recovery Center at Poway
Shante received a Master of Social Work in 2016 from the University of Southern California. She joined the Palomar Behavioral Health team shortly after in November of 2016 where she worked with the mentally ill population in the Emergency Department. She is now the Lead Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician for the Substance Use Outpatient service where she provides clinical and administrative support to participants admitted to the program. Shante utilizes Solution-Focused techniques, DBT, CBT, Mindfulness and Narrative Therapy in her clinical approach so as to help each participant work through past traumas, identify current stressors, and highlight strengths on their road to recovery.
